Maybe it was not the Sat-Navs fault (although I am going to blame it anyway). We have just returned from a couple of weeks in France (they drive on the opposite side of the road to us for those who don`t know).
Anyway, the sat-nav gave the instruction, in 100yds, turn left and enter the motorway, so listening to it, instead of looking at it (trying to watch where I was going) I turned left and entered the motorway (I know you are thinking, "I know whats comming", well you are wrong!), the only trouble was I entered the slip road for the North bound carriageway, the left turn for the southbound one being some 60yds further on, oops!
Still only 10 miles to the next exit, turn around and back down the other side.
The exit soon appeared, I double checked to make sure it was the right one, yup.

The clever sat-nav had already worked out that I needed to go back down the other side of the motorway, sorted.
"At the top of the ramp, turn left and immediately turn left and rejoin the motorway" said the sat-nav.

So I did exactly that, saw the sign for the enterance to the southbound, which was as stated, the next left, no problem.
Only there was!

I had turned into the oncomming traffic of a dual carriageway

The sat-nav never said anything about crossing carriageways before turning left

Slam on the brakes

no time!

(anyway the oncomming French driver was not putting his brakes on so why should I?

), accellerate then

it is amazing how much grunt you can get out of a turbo!

It is also amazing how high a curb you can mount when you are in a hurry!!!

Down the other side of the traffic island, turn left and join the motorway

( look right first)
Anyone who has driven in France will know that you are nervouse to start with, so I suppose that the moral of the story is don`t be complaisant, look as well as listen and don`t trust those bl**dy sat-nav`s an inch!
