Default Capes on TV!

Just flicking through the channels, and came to ITV3, started to watch 'The casebook of Sherlock Holmes'. They were in a scene by a lake, and I thought, "looks like Capes", then saw the Brigde and thought "looks like the bridge at Capes", then saw the hall and thought, "looks like the hall at Capes", then it panned out to a wide screen shot of the garden pool side of the lake, BLIMEY, IT IS CAPES!!! Hence, I'm now glued to TV and watching Capesthorne Hall on national television, as they filmed it in the hall and the surrounding grounds.....

Thumbs up

LOL, well spotted.

It’s been used a number of times for period stuff, Sherlock Holmes in particular. The one that features the grounds and lakes most is ‘The problem of Thor Bridge’ which is all about somebody getting pushed off the bridge into the Main Lake!!

Other episodes filmed at Capesthorne are; Eligible Bachelor, Greek Interpreter, and Second Stain.

Quite a few local places have been used for Sherlock Holmes including, Gawsworth Hall, Adlington Hall, Bramhall Hall, Buxton Opera House, Lyme Hall, and Tatton Hall.

Full list here: http://my.core.com/~jcnash/sherlock_graphic.html

Remember seeing one where there was actually a guy fishing in the background!
