Since last night (friday) i have been having a few problems getting on the net...I am with ntl....anyone else experiencing similar? Its alright again now but for a few hours I thought the PC was on the blink tried everything system restore, checking all the wires etc etc...then in comes my daughters mate and says...'oh yeh we were having problems last night too...and we're with ntl'....i was relieved but a bit p****ed off as I thought the old PC was playing up....i must be addicted to this internet lark

I've been having a few problems over the last few days aswell. Because we have got the whole package (broadband, tv, telephone) we have to unplug everything at the televison for 40 seconds then turn the computer off and it normally does the trick.

I used to be with NTL when i lived in Manchester it struck me that they slowed the internet down in certain areas or even switched it off this sort of sh** happend about once a fortnight and i found that when it was running slow ifr you unplugged your set top box & plugged it back in again (if you connect to internet that way)and then restarted your computer it sorted it out no probs at all unless NTL internet was down of course.I am with BT now with a home network much faster then NTL and (touch wood) has never gone down yet .2Mb a sec is fast enough for me how many Mbs per sec is ntl now ?.Also when i was on ntl i dumped the set top box connection and got a router and it didnt cause me any where as many probs after that. All you have to do is phone em up and tell them it keeps freezing both your computer and your telly so can you have a router for the internet and they should sort it for free . Knowing what i know now i would never have changed from BT . Ntl are the kings of BS i phoned them once and told them my box and internet were not working so they told me there was work being done in the area and it would be back on asap prob a few hours .So i told them my mums box was working fine and they told me that she was a different franchise to me and that you could be on the same road but on a different franchise and guess what happend when i told them we were not on the same road but in the same house on the same account they put the phone down on me in my opinion ntl are not worth the agro in anycase you cant get it where i live so i dont have the choice wouldnt have ntl if i did have .But i may consider it if they paid me ..lol

Well at least I know that its not my pc giving trouble. Been having problems for 2/3 weeks, usually between 6 and 8 pm - guess what, on NTL for tele, TV and internet. If this keeps up will change to someone else
