forget the water.
Put the egg in a large cup or small bowl, put a plate over the top, in the microwave for 1min 20 secs for 650watt microwave.

May need to experiment with times but I haven't used the 'old' way since shown this.

Hi

try a small frying pan with a lid! add about an inch depth of water bring to a simmer add the egg and cook till you like it done
