Noprobs mate i can honestly recomend the fishing at Grassmere as being really good all the place needs a good head of 20lb plus carp and it would be perfect ...lol

try not to fish the road side mate it gets hammered on there for little reward!! drive right around the lake and fish the oppisite side to the road. you go down a big rocky hill and fish anywere down that side or down by the weir pool all top spots that ive had pike upto 22lb mate. only problem wi fishing that side is walking back up said hill its an absoulute killer our record for going back up is 15mins it really gets the calf muscles. but effort equals reward fella

not that i know of Russ. I have been reading up on quite a few websites that it does not cost that much to hire a boat for the day especially if there is a few of you.

I am another one that would suggest Grasmere, lovely little water, however Bassenthwaite has long been a producer of good bags of pike.....not monsters but usually a few a session.
Have a good time and take waterproofs......whatever time of year you go !!!

alright peeps,

had a few good days but sadly only a couple of pike. First was 5lb from Grassmere on Mackerel and the seconds was an 8lb great little fighter (nearly lost it) from Rydal on herring coloured red. 30 mins after that I lost a really good sized one as did my mate

Was good to fish somewhere else so thanks for all the previous info chaps. Quite looking forward to get back carping this weekend.
