Default Pike on the bridgewater canal

Have had some success on the Bridgewater canal catching pike on Lures. Fish up to 14lb. However I am struggling to catch anything bigger. Is lure fishing the method? What about deads and livies?? Any particular sections/features worth trying? I live in Warrington so any tips would be greatly appreciated. I know there are some big fish in there but it is such a huge amount of water to cover.

If possible get yourself down to Trafford Park, at the back of Kelloggs there have been some 20 pounders caught fron near there in the past on lures.
Permits from Trafford Angling (cheap for a years fishing)

You can catch em all along the Bridgey but as said by FJW Kellogs is a good spot i tended to go for the Dunham massey /Lymm area but have had em to 22 on sea dead baits

evening !!!

ive had quite a few big fish from the runcorn end of the bridgie not on lures though !!!

most were caught using a wobbled deadbait .the best method ive found is to use a small float up the line to keep the bait off the bottom and away from shopping trolleys etc etc.
this is cast out and walked slowly along the bank until you get a bite. i was shown this method by the local baliff he had caught fish to 27 pounds using this method.. unfortunately my fish werent as big as his but the method is a sound approach for the canal
