Default Gravel pit tench-bait/particles

Im looking to fish a local gravel pit over easter which I know contains large tench. Iam thinking I will be up there for 48 hours and will use a light carp set up. ie-optonics, carp rods etc. Does anyone have any tips for what kind of particles/additives to spod to attract tench in particular?

get a sack of pigeon conditioner, cook up about 5kg dry weight, till it blows, then give it a quick blast in a blender, add a little groundbait and u have one of the best "soups" for tench, it explodes and clouds up magnificently

Cheers fellas. A bit concerned how much to spod for a night, to much/to little etc..
Always float fish for tench but a lot of carp anglers tell me they pick up big tench regular. I'm thinking if you can scale down and perfect this approach it can pay off. Not a fan off bollies and pellets/pva/bolt rig to be honest. How do you prepare maple peas? I remember maple cream bollies used to pick up a fair few tench.

Maple Peas are like mini boilies ... about 10mm in size - an excellent bait for carp or tench, especially in the warmer months. They're quite dense so will sink into the silt, but can also be catapulted a fair distance (20-30yds accurately).

Always soak them for 12-24hrs & then bring to the boil / simmer for 20-30 mins before use. They're naturally sweet, but you can add a tablespoon or two of brown sugar when soaking / boiling to bring the flavour out.

Try a prawn hookbait on one of the rods, one of the best early season tench baits I've used
