Hooking a worm

Was wondering if anybody has ever tried this -

Putting a worm directly onto a hook and using 2 rig ring stops (one either side of the worm) to hold it in place?

Jules is ya man for worms mate but search the threads you will see he did a lill bit on his fav methods hope this helps
