Default Winter Pike fishing

I hear alot of ppl saying that now winter is coming they will take up Pike fishing for the colder months

I know Carp slow down and dont need to feed in winter etc etc, but is this not the same for pike? or do they feed the same?

What are your opinions?

No they slow down but not as much as the carp and other coarse fish .However the reason people pike in the winter is that there are not hoards of small roach etc flitting about all over the water therefore when you put a livebait in, the distress signals will be very strong as there is very little other fish movement going on .Also pike will more readilly take a static dead bait as its there on the deck and dont have to chase it and as stated before there isnt that much food in the way of prey fish freely available as there is in the warmer months
