Now then will this be the British rod and line caught Record unofficial of course as we dont count non native fish do we like Zander,Catfish and Carp but we do dont we .

There are ponds ,ca.nals ,pools and lakes with all kinds of exotic species in their depths these days .Aquarium owners buy fish which either outgrow their tank or garden pond or they get bored of them and feel like a change .So rather then humanely kill them they just release them in a local pond, lake or ca.nal.
Back in the early 90s i was fishing the ca.nal looking bit at the side of Compstall got an absolute sail away bite on my float and after a few mins landed a largish terrapin after that i was told to wait till the sun comes out so i did and out came the terrapins/turtles all sunning themselves on the logs on the far bank.Dont know if they are still there these days perhaps someone more local then i am will know
