did any of you guys read the news of the world this morning in the sport section at the back there was a short piece by bob nudd about the current pike stockings in our rivers he says that he thinks the best thing to do to reduce this is to start a culling campaign to reduce the stock of pike in our rivers

Shame if he did - setting anglers out to kill their quarry - surely not a good idea when suggested by anyone....

FACE IT its the news of the world..........would you trust it or any newspaper to quote you correctly ?

i have just re read the article and the article was not a quote from mr nudd it was his weekly piece he does for that particular paper and it was not such about pike in lakes or ponds he was winging about them in the rivers as the match men keep losing all there small silver fish when bringing them in to net lol they shoudnt fart around playing a 5oz roach then should they if they are 'playing' a small fish there asking for trouble once that pike hears the fish splahing and wat not intinctively he is going to investigate and hes not going to give up a free meal

A retraction yeah.But he's trying to say that when he used the word "cull" he didn't mean kill them he meant to organise moving them to other water. I might be wrong but the only definition of the word cull is to kill off the excess numbers of something. I've seen them "culling" seals on TV and sure enough they moved the seals...to a fur coat factory

Stig, Give up on the quality papers aswell.....the broadsheet is dead, even the new popular sized Times is heading down the tubes...editorial values are a thing of the past.....
