Default And for now for something completely different...

First trip out in search of Barbel tomorrow. So it's an early start again.

I've had some really good advice on alot of aspects as to what I should be doing from a fellow forumista, so hopefully I'll be able to put it into practice.

To be truthful I'll be happy with a couple of taps to start with and also bringing the rigs back to the bank in the same kind of state they went in.

So it's a new adventure, I'm not really sure if they're a great deal in the water... time will tell.

Another alien thing will be not taking my seat box, the roving approach is something else that'll take some getting used to.

It's the first time on the venue, so I'll be fighting my way through the undergrowth to get anywhere near the River, try and find a few likely spots and give them 1/2 hour a piece.

Report of one kind or another will follow tomorrow. Tune in for the comedy value if nothing else.

It's about 20 years since I last fished for barbel.
In fact I've only fished a river twice in the last 10 years, and both times were this year.
If you catch one, you'll know about it.
What river are you going to fish?

I'll tell all tomorrow... but it's very local to me in Stockport, sothat should give you a bit of a clue?

Similar in size to most of the stretches of the Dane.

Best of luck Drynetter. We look forward to the catch report filled with epic tales of Mr Whiskers visiting the bank!
