Admittedly you're never going to get a forty plus roach, but if you get something over 2-21/2lbs...??? Anything over 3 and you're joining a very short list. Nobody really seems to want to fish for them anymore.

On a slightly different tack, even the national match fishing team are struggling a bit now as there more used to fishing for carp. Don't quote me on this but I think they may have come third in the last championships.

Last weeks Anglers Mail is going on about someone trying to set a match record in 5 or 6 hours (can't remember which). In excess of 600lbs of carp using 4 keepnets. Surely that's not taking the sport forward?
Humble pie on this... listened to the reports on the radio this morning...

England finished 1, 2 and 3 in Italy yesterday. They've got a decent enough draw for today and have more than a good chance of becoming world champions both team and individually.

I don't think so, he'd really struggled yesterday. He'd lost a couple of good fish from a bad draw but landed one near the end that took him from the late 20's in his section to about 8th.

May be Will Raison??? He's drawn in the section that won it yesterday apparently. Scotthorne got another bad draw again...
