Default Piking the mersey

Hi all,
just wondering if anyones had a go wandering around with a lure on the mersey round warrington?? Saw a couple of right beasts not long back near to the inlet at woolston tip but never heard of any being caught let alone fished for.

Anyone know of any coming out????

There have always been pike lurking near the inlet I saw some big fish there 20 years ago. It is very shallow round that area. I have tried piking but had no joy but I know of people who have had some fish up to 22 pounds.

Not seen any come out of the Mersey, but I've seen a few further up near to Burnage Rugby Club and also seen one that resembled a crocodile follow a Skimmer in at the Weir in Northenden.

They're rarely fished for near where I am, so it could be worth a go.

Seem to remember reading something along the lines of Pike thriving on neglect, not sure how true that is?

Not sure, but even if they don't own the other side, it's a hell of a trek round. The days of me crawling over the pipe to the other side are now long gone.

We must have been mad
