Default small water baiting

Done quite a bit on small waters mate and prebaiting has paid off in a big way for me.I chose spots that werent often fished by others but also obviously on a regular patrol route of the fish. What head of fish are we talking and how about water clarity and depths?

I filled in a few spots most weeks and have taken far more fish off the lake just doing short sessions and a limited number of nights than most others fishing this water.

Give me a few more bits of info and I will see what I can pass onto you.Prebait on small lakes is very good particularly as you know that if you choose the right spots the fish will come across your baits at least once in a 24hr period

cheers pal. the pools like a bath, in the middle its six foot, the far margin is two foot and the closer margin is four foot. Its very murky and silty all over, theres about thirty five carp in and loads of tench too, theres also a willow tree at the end of pool which is half sunken. hope this helps

Small amounts of bait regular is the way forward on a small pool mate

The murk may hinder you but with just 2-4ft margins the fish will give the game away some how be it tail patterns, boils, bubbles, flat spots or simply just rolling.I would go with quality boilies and some pellet or corn or particles.Try and get an idea for where the fish like to hang out the willow sounds ideal to me especially if its a bit difficult to fish so you might get it to yourself.
Trickle the bait in say 1kilo twice a week in a couple of margin spots and maybe an open water spot like a shallow spot or drop off. With a head of fish like that mate I dont think it will require much more than a kilo at a time to get them looking for your bait I have even had em waiting for it to go in on a similar sized lake with a smaller head of fish so I think a couple of weeks will see you catching from the baited spots.
I cant stress enough though about trying to choose a unique spot as I feel this is probably the key to success. The more free meals the fish get without lines or disturbance is going to see you bank more fish in my experience.Once it comes to fishing drop in a handful of bait on your spots then wait a while going back to the first spot for a look.Do this in rotation until you see signs of fish. Then drop a light lead in after a handful of bait to semi spook the fish out.Slack lines and sit on the rod(s).

Tight lines and keep us updated
