Ive been fishing the same venue since i was at school some twenty odd years ago.Ive probably caught every single fish in the lake ten times over but i still get the same buzz as if it were the first time. Now the fish arnt monsters but they put up a good fight and its great. As i was sorting my rods out over xmas i noticed that i hadnt changed my rigs for about 2 years, same hooklink, same semifixed lead and even the good old line alligner. Now as i looked at the set up i realised that i fish the same spots on the lake every time as i know i will catch fish from there, not always from the same peg but always to the same "hotspots".My fishing has become stale ,i go thru the same motions every time and it isnt a challenge anymore so now its time to move on to venues new.I will fish the old water still but only with my kids to watch them learn to fish and enjoy it.Ive done my time there now its time for a challenge

I personly am not keen on them atall, I have in the past moved on from one water that i was getting repeat captures from I had had both the biguns twice and one of them i had three times, there was a targret fish i still wanted but it was also the smallest fish in the pool, but what a looker a scale purfect low double common that looked very much like a huge cruie.
One other point though would anyone actually return to a water after leaving because of repeat catures? The water i moved on from the two bigguns are now 30+ and personly I have no intrest in returning to fish for them even though they were only mid 20s when i had them. |

No i wouldnt return to a water that i had caught fish from just cause they got a bit bigger. Once you have caught a target fish i dont see a point going back to catch him a few pounds heavier.
