I warned Les Bamford not to let wiganers on redmire

remember wigan angling law 2.4.5a

Any feesh spotted fromt'top'o'embankment may be guesstimated by the viewer. Estimates can be adjudged by the size of viewers pets/plants..
eg. it were longer than sunflowers next door and wider tha me dogs yed..

Length can be adjudged in feet only... none o' that euro metric nonsense. Inches are furt puffs..
when guesstimating length in feet'n'inches actual length is to be multiplied by 1.85...
alternatively an only in special cases railway sleepers are a good unit of length..

I wonder if remire bookings have taken a downturn recently?

I think Pilky is from Bolton where they only speak proper Queen's English, he's suggesting that in Wigan we often exaggerate the weights of fish and is trying to put across how we might portray spotting a big fish

Saw one in Scotsman's last year from the top of the embankment, wouldn't like to guess it's weight but it was as long as a dwarf conifer and as wide as next doors labrador.......................................... ...

There are some good fish though in that area, and considering it's on my doorstep should really put some effort in for one of them :
