Default Tackle Tarts

Just wondering how many of you out there are tackle tarts??? I fished with my mate today (by the way, its RAININ) and he was more bothered about getting dirt 'on the rods he only polished yesterday' and spending more time getting his rods perfectly level. I like my tackle to look tidy but i think i cast all 3 of my rods out before he had his pod looking pretty, never mind even getting a rod out of its bag. I always ask is it really neccesary????????

The first thing i do on any sesion is get the rods out before sorting out my bankside arrangement.

Then i get the spirit level out to check that everything is perfectly level

LOL
I get rods in first, i must admit though i do get my pod level, always have done. A neat one looks better than a lop-sided one, then bivvy up and chill (stuff chucked in the biv)

I think I’d have to be classed as the complete opposite – my gear gets quite a bit of abuse – the joys of stalking and dragging everything up and down trees, through bushes, setting up rods on the floor with no rests, etc.

You can’t beat a bit of mud on your gear, sign of a big fish catcher, that.

I admit to bein a tart where as good lookin kits concerned, but I dont sit down buffing my bobbins after every session.Just a quick check to make sure all my rod rings are crap free at the beginning of the session is enough.I do like a nice clean groundsheet tho

LOL – That swim is precarious to say the least. You can just make out the plank between the two rods just under the mud, which sinks each time you step on it. It's bad enough when you are just flicking out a bait but when you actually get a run.. . Let’s just say chesties' are a necessity in order to bank a fish as the silt goes up to your waist as soon as you go step of the plank – well worth the hassle though, a cracking sneak

JULES IS A TACKLE TART !! he polishes his stainless and cleans his gear everytime he finishes a session

pmsl no disrespect to anyone out there but i can't be doing with them, for me i would rather be covered in muck and mud hiding away the shiney stainless than having the sun shine all over it casting light over swim

Dont do tackle tarting, dont understand it, never have. It just seems to me that the people that spend more time faffing about getting everything nice n clean n level never catch!! Nuff sed!!
