Jase22lb,
You may have noticed a few posts with somewhat bitter aftertones in regard to your query, this may be down to a few factors fella-don't take this in a derogatory way but my general census is that you may be fairly new to this carp fishing giggle and therefore some folk will see this 'I'm a field tester' as a bit of a brag and see it as a walk before running type of affair...

Its been the norm for years that a bloke gets in with a bait firm and in return for a bit of cheap bait and an ill fitting T shirt he'll tell all his bank fellows and mates he's a bona fide part of 'the trade' and is 'testing' this new wonder bait. Basically its all pollocks, all the bait supplier is/was doing was selling bait cheaper to a few lads and they were hypnotised into showing loyalty and become a walking advert...this was/is often confused with 'field testing'...

Field testing involves sitting behind a bait that may or may not work for a lot of bank hours in comparison to a tried and tested successful bait in return for feedback. In order to be a proven field tester one must come up with a proven track record that they can produce the goods ie fish which will equal publicity in the carp comics. Would they let Lewis Hamilton test drive the new Ferrari? Probably. Would they let me or John who lives three doors up? Probably not...

In a nutshell, don't let it go to your head fella,it may be a ploy to flog you some cheap bait,it may also be a genuine request for info on how your bait performs. Either way, don't be disheartened if a few people start to rip the pish cos you've become a cyber advert, its a price you pay for cheap bait I suppose. But whatever you do don't expect them carps to come crawling up the rod rings and be under the illusion you're fishing with witchcraft boilies that will magic up phenominal captures...

you did say that the firms provide you with ill fitting t'shirts. could you imagine st johns or linch with every angler on wearing a field tester supplied t'shirt. very brokeback mountain
