i had a set of nash ss buzzers. a complete nightmare. the first problem i had with them was the fact that when using a low diameter line it wouldn't pick the roller up so a screaming take wouldn't even make a bleep from the buzzer. after discussing this problem with a mate i bought the matrix neville rollers which stopped the problem of the roller moving but if the magnets in the rollers weren't out far enough the buzzer wouldn't bleep. this was caused by the steel from the alarm preventing the sensor from picking up the moving magnets. i had to drill tiny holes in the rollers and push the magnets out so that the alarms would work but if i pushed them out to far the magnet would catch onto the alarm and wouldn't allow the roller to turn. i bought the alarms as my old delks were knackered and i wanted a basic but smart alarm that wouldn't pack up easily but i was disappointed with the performance of the nash ss's with the constant tinkering that i had to do to keep them working. i ended up flogging them for less than half price and getting second hand txi's which are running mint touch wood.

Never really bought into the stainless stuff to be honest. Yes it does or should last a lifetime, but isn't very practical from an angling point of view in that it is heavy and shiny
![]() Everything else is designed to blend with the surroundings, yet the shiniest, most noticable item of tackle is positioned at the waters edge ![]() ![]() Have had good and bad tackle from most manufacturers over the years, stay with the tried and tested for rods and reels and you won't go far wrong. Luggage you get what you pay for. Bivvies, take a look on the bank and see what is standing the test of time, Trakker and Aqua poss the pick of the bunch. I reckon tackle companies should stick at what they are good at, it's when they try to diverse that they have problems. Speaking of Aqua, anyone ever had a bad item of tackle from them, poor workmanship/quality? Good example of a tackle company concentrating on getting it right and not making it cheap. |
