Whats the latest on the social. Sharnt be fishing but would like to come down and put faces to names. Anyone know if T shirts will be ready soon

Hi David,

Yes, there have been some developments. The plan is to hold a series of socials at Blackwood Pool (Bagnall, Stoke-On-Trent) over the next few months. The water is about an acre and we could fit between ten and fifteen on at a time. The plan is to hold three socials between May and July, which should allow everybody a chance to get the rods in.

I have gained permission to have the water closed for our use for 24hrs at a time, so the fish-ins would be from say 2pm Saturday till 2pm Sunday. Cost for the social would be ten pounds per head which would go to the club, but will also include a barbeque on the Saturday night.

Non-fishing forum members will be welcome along to any of the socials and can chuck a few quid in the kitty if they want to stay for the Barbie, but they will need to give an indication if they may be attending as we may need to plan parking.

The water is nothing special in terms of size, but holds lots of nice carp (like the one Dave Miller had on Saturday – below) to mid-double so offers plenty in the way of action for those who get it right.

I do still have the list of those who wished to take part of the old forum, but I notice that a few no longer post and we also have a number of new faces that were not around at the time of the old post, so it may be best if those who fancy it, and are happy with the above, add their names below.

I will be confirming the dates at the next Committee meeting, but expect to hold one in early May, one in June, and one in July, so if you start adding your names below we can then sort out who fancies which dates, etc.

As the funds are going to the club for use of the water and food for the Barbie, the £10.00 peg fees will need to be in advance, but we’ll sort details once I have the dates.

Thanks for the info Julian. As far as I was aware there was only going to be one social on the old forum and that may have been problematic for me. If you have any places for May or July then please count me in
