Default Oxlease closed

I have just read that Linears Oxlease lake has been closed until spring 2008.I was planning to visit Linear next week but St Johns will probably be too busy now so I won't bother

Has anyone any idea why it is closed for so long?

It must be pretty bad to shut such a lucrative and busy lake for such a long time.

it cant fish any worse at the moment, like you said booth it will do the fish some good the complex hasn't really recovered from the floods, st johns has done ok but the rest has slowed right down, i reckon most of the waters should have a break and re open spring next year IMO.

Default Oxlease

Def the Floods mate, Know a guy who fishes a syndicate down there that backs onto a few Linear waters and they were asked would they consider letting Linear net their lake as they suspected a fair few of linears fish had gone in the floods! But i have also heard rumours (unconfirmed I stress) that they have had a few Belly up as well.

Hopefully the Shut - down will give them the time they need to get it back in shape.

Just seen on their web site....only about 25% of the stock is still in there after the floods

That is a lot of fish to have lost considering there was over 2000 in there before the floods.

No restocking until the summer at the earliest as well

really if there was only 25% of stock left they should of mentioned before they reopened it, not after they have made a few £££

Fair point that matey they really need to let people know also if they are saying 25% IMHO it maybe a lot more than that.

Gutted

Its allways upsetting when so many fish are lost

I just hope it all works out and gets back to normal for the complex

The only good news maybe is that they have ended up in other waters nearby would hate to think of them being found in a field etc after all the water has receded but only time will tell. Here,s hopin tho.
