yes always connect the 15lb end to your reel line, with the 45lb end with your rig and lead on.

jesus wept, if you have to ask that question you have no business using shockleaders. Dont try and run before you can walk

like i said mate its pretty logical really but if you dont know then you dont know so why not ask people who do...thats what forums are there for...imagine going for the biggun with the leader on the wrong way round......could be nasty...although I have to admit i have never had the need to use them anyway...lol.. i can only do an underarm flick to the edge of the bushes..lol..

If the guy didnt know which way around to use the leader the big question is, what knot is he going to use, that question frightens me as I dread to imagine hope to god it aint loop to loop

Ginge, respect for asking the question but i can see were the lads are posting from.It might be a good idea to abandon the idea until you have tried it out on a field somewere. The knot is important and you must be able to tie it properly. As posted already i dont have much use for shockleaders but am fishing at around 120 at times.Do you really need one?Would some casting practice get you the extra distance.

ooh bit of sarcasm there m8 , not trying to stir things up again are we ?
i think ginge asked a fair question and good on him for asking for advice before he decided to use one .
i just think a few people jumped on the guy a bit hasty and if some new carpers see that they might think twice about asking for advice which would be worse cause then they might be tempted to try things out for themselves which could lead to disaster !
