I would say it would be THE most pefect carp lake if you could night fish the place. As it is, it only seems to fish the last hour before darkness and then you have to pack up and go home

I hear, though I am open to being corrected from someone official, that it isn't estate owners who won't allow night fishing, it is in fact the club.

If it was open to night fishing, it would be hammered and turn into a nightmare. Perhaps it is this reason why they do not allow night fishing, going along the lines of "prevention being better than a cure", and all that. Which I can see the logic in.

Maybe having 5 weekends per season, were anglers have to book on and a draw is made for choice of pegs would be a good idea. No angler can do more than 1 session per season so more people get a chance. That way the amount of anglers can be limited, and the water and credibility of the club is not jeopardised.

Maybe use it as another incentive to get people on the work parties, and allow over night sessions in the first two weeks were only work party participants are allowed to fish.
