I think the Cheshire record is the Duke from Farmwood ( 45.2 ??? )

BUT

Stocked from Wellington Country Park at quite a big weight.

The Cheshire record for me is Steve Smith's Marley fsih at 42.10. ( Although I'am sure there will be loads of people who will inform me of the error of my way's and put me right ).

Watch this space though, because there is a really good chance that there will be a new record for the area come October / November.

Smithy's fish was from Marley Tiles Lake in Sandiway, and yes, Marbury and Budworth mere is the same place. It just depends on which village you are from ( at either end of the lake ) as to what you call it.

There's probably hundreds of carp called 'slate grey' up and down the country, let alone in the Northwest bud Your little matey in Sale is one of many..

Could we all be wrong

Is there a uncaught carp just waiting to get caught at a NW record weight?

There are a few in the n/w that could rock the record, maybe break it. But they live in some of the hardest of the hard low stock waters you could ever fish.
