Default change in the water

When it was raining over the weekend, the water on the lake looked like it was seperating, looked like there was a big bow in the water, with one side calm with rain drops, and the other side of the bow with disturbed water and rain drops??????

Does anybody know what this is please

Dunno lol.

Was hoping it may have been something to do with the depth underwater (showing ledges) or anything really lol.

Just that it looked wierd and I havent seen it like that before.

Often the size of the ripples created by rain drops are determined by the depth of the lake. I noticed it on a lake I fished a few years ago where the ripples were bigger in some areas than others, at first I blamed it on wind like Phil said but....there wasn't any wind. Its all about the depths and densities of the lake you're fishing, the bigger ripples occur on the deeper water and smaller ripples on the shallower water. The seperation you saw could show a trough in the lake or perhaps weedbeds, dramatic depth changes or something like that.

Thanks mate,

This is kind of what I was thinking, I thought that where the line was would showe where the ledges may be?

Could only be a rough guide, because the lines moved slightly throughout the day.

I'd suggest whacking out a marker where you saw the change in water next time you go - that way you would be abe to confirm a ledge / depth change!
