I used to roll my own bait ( shop brought base mixes or direct from bait companies) and added my own little bits, etc. It caused hundreds of rows with the hag at the time haha! . Nowadays (well for the last 10yrs or so) Ive got it in bulk readymade. But respect to you deano . Proper values mate.

I'm only playing mate but nobodies biting...LOL...But that said I like to do everything I can as I then feel as if I truly did catch the fish, catching em on a bait you put together and rolled is the icing on the cake but its not for everyone

I had a similar claiming dilema last year in France, what is everyones opinion on this one?

Whilst fishing the Chalet Lake at Metz I hooked and palyed for 30+ minutes a 58lb catfish during the night, the fish was duly netted by my good mate Mutley. As he nets a lot of my fish home and abroad does it count?.........

By the way, he was about 150 yards away on the opposite bank, the fish had snagged one of his lines and was wallowing about in the shallows just in front of him.

Its a tad early yet for the biters lol. I fully understand where you are coming from though mate. Old skool tradition is like watercraft to a certain degree . Is that you cannot buy it off the shelf. Its in the blood. RESPECT.

There was a chap writing articles in Carpworld not so long back, proper old skool fella, he wouldnt fish unless he was using bait hes put together and he used to always put his own slant on his rigs, a lot of that is dead in carp fishing but even before I started it was what it was all about. As long as people enjoy it though its all that matters carping is a great hobby and its hugely popular these days

I agree, cast it, wind it in, and land it, all on your own.

Next time, tell your mate to leave it alone.

if you let your mate take the rod, its his fish imo

No ones capture really, however it would be more yours than your mates, finding the spot getting the take etc is much ahrder than reeling a fish in - any fool can do that.
