Default Shock leaders on sotas waters

recently joined stoke as and was thumbing through the general rules and spotted the one about using shock leaders for casting is this only on the bigger waters and can anyone recomend any good leader material. would be eternally gratefull if anyone can elaborate

hmmm its a techy one this.............i dont use leaders unless im planning to chuck a lead or if i think there are snags or bars that may cause damage to the line.................. i used to use Kryston quicksilver but prefer to use a flourocarbon leader nowadays............virage in 25lb does the job for me........ive never managed to smash it.........but i will keep trying

The korda 30lb stuff is unbreakable but is thick and causes bulky knots.
