You say you know how it feels grumps yet you still try and make this guy feel that little more sh*tty by telling him he shouldnt of fell asleep while fishing...

For one im sure he doesnt give a monkeys about your advice at this moment in time so no real need to of replied to his post really hey if only giving negative advice.

So not wanting to take anything away from his post you can reply via PM if best but im very intrigued on how you manage to fish, lets say a few work nights and yet go to work the next day having not slept, go back to the lake, stay awake another night, go work again and do this for 3 or 4 nights... Surely you need to sleep pal... Sod this were not camping lark..... Fisherman still need to sleep mate..

This bickering has gone far enough

"Scroats should not have taken the tackle awake or asleep "
I will reiterate if unscrupolous anglers did not buy obviously stolen or potentially stolen/iffy gear there would not be a market for it so the morally bankrupt who partake in the act of fishing tackle theft would simply move on and find another soft target .

Grumpy you are entitled to your opinion however in this instance you appear to be a little off key bordering on dead wrong as the vast majority of carpers in this world do sleep at night . If you can do a 3 day & night sesh without sleeping you are a better man than i am . However you said something about cat napping !! Catnapping is still sleeping

Reeling in for a couple of hours on a 2 day session to get some kip still might not prevent your tackle getting stolen Grumpy. Do you pack it away and put it in under the bedchair as suggested previously

Il emphasise on what Smokey has already said. Modern day carp fishing has accepted the fact that we need to sleep at night whilst fishing, we are only human. I have done the same, fished a whole month, 31 nights without doing one of them in my own bed at home... how on earth would i have done this when i work 5 or 6 days a week?

Its quite aparent from what you have said that you musnt have any mates that are dedicated to the sport like a lot of angler that i know. I like to be at the lakeside as much as possible to increase my chances of banking my target fish, this involves spending a lot of nights on the bank where i enjoy nothing more than sitting watching the water as the sun passes over the far bank, then jumping into my sleeping bag where i then wait for either a take or my alarm to wake me at 6am, 2 hours before i need to be at work.

Next time you walk into your local tackle shop, take a little look around you and see how many things that our favorite companys have made to make 'sleeping at fishing' so much more enjoyable...

Would you walk around your local and tell all the anglers there not to go to sleep as in your opinion, 'sleep is for home, not at fishing'... i very much doubt it my freind.

At the end of the day, you need to pull that wool from your eyes and realise that sleeping is an accepted thing in carp fishing... i dont think you will get another NW forum user that will agree with you...

Take it easy

Chris
