just watched these and they are just doing my head in

all the rigs we think work fine just get spat out very easily

also show fish spooking off pop-ups just an inch high

though they were gon a help my fishing-they just made me paranoid

Don't fall into the trap of thinking that what you've seen on them films happens all the time, its circumstancial to your particular fishing situation. IE pop ups may well spook those fish in the vid in clear, shallow gravelly conditions, but if it was silty or murky or even dark they may well have taken the bait.

Also don't listen to everything the southern brainwashers comment on, no matter how good the bait, or tricky the rig, hooking a fish still relies on a fair amount of good fortune, commonly known as luck.

There are 'right' and 'wrong' rigs to use in given situations, but its never as black and white as this. Just try and determine on the particular day/lake/swim the best way to present your offerings given the conditions in front of you, then whack em out, sit back and let them do the rest.

I always maintain that carp fishing is easy, its the anglers that make it complicated and difficult...

I find it best to avoid these videos at all costs. They are no help what so ever! They turn you into a paranoid, gibbering wreck, you question you whole existence, your sanity goes, and on your next session after viewing them, your confidence is minus 89% as you have visions of the carp playing skipping games with your bestest rig and sucking and blowing your bait in and out like a child with a dummy!

They should come with some sort of warning, as they are far more disturbing than any horror film I've seen!

Yes, it's best to avoid them at ALL costs..

^ i honestly didnt feel like that at all after watching them
... it kinda made things clearer for me

all it proved is you can have the best kit, the fanciest rigs and "pukka" bait and it doesnt mean a thing
......it seems 99% of catching is down to luck or the carp making a mistake

watch these underwater vids (there's quite a few if you scroll down on the left)
not quite korda quality but worth a watch

Dont get your knickers in a twist about Danny and his boys films.. It never really bothered me as I didnt learn anything I didnt already know CARP ARE FUNNY BUGGERS and THEY ARE DIFFERENT ON EVERY WATER AND DIFFERENT SCENARIO....give us a pm and I will show you some proper real time underwater footage(if the fish are playing ball ). I know ALL rigs are suspect and sometimes its just a case of waiting until the carp are feeding hard enough to trip up..plus a bit of luck but if you do things right the odds are in your favour. By all means watch those DVD's they are very good but think about the situation a lot more than most and it will make more sense. I reckon I could have nailed any one of those carp in the DVD's within minutes on some sweetcorn and I am serious

Best thing to watch is the carp at your local venue's, take the dog for a walk or on baiting trips take the time to find fish in the margins(if that's possible) and watch how they feed and what they are feeding on, how easily they spook and how long it takes for them to come back and get there heads down. Carp are like people each to there own and understanding the fish your trying to catch gives you a massive advantage !!

I'm in agreement with most of the boys here, try not to let it stress you pal, take it all with a pinch of salt. At the end of the day there's no wonder rig, you don't need a film crew to show you how a clue'd up carp can f u c k you over, just enjoy yourself mate, like olli said there's a massive element of luck involved. All we can do is to keep learning, work hard and for now use the methods and rigs we're confident in

If in doubt - avoid all other anglers, avoid dvd's, avoid mag's, work things out for yourself and have a b l o o dy good time doing it

If not in doubt, crack a can open, put your feet up, watch said dvd, treat it as light entertainment,
