One of the best things i find when spoding in wind is to put the marker out then move behind the wind to put the bait out; so the winds giving you the advantage then put your rods out after you have returned from spoding behind the wind.

always prefered to spread it about a bit, even while spodding... oo, err!
when its calm i need to put a couple to the left, to the right, a bit behind, etc.

when its very rough and windy just try to be accurate, allow for the wind a bit, clip up, and let nature help you spread it about a bit for you.

try to overcast, use the clip, and after casting hold rod vertical, and when the line hits the clip let the rod pull over, to take the "snatch" out of the line hitting the clip.

Default Spodding

After watching them korda dvd's I always cast the spod about abit say a 10sq ft area around the marker(when baiting heavy), this has worked out better for me than sticking it all a ft off the back of the marker, I say let the wind spread it out a little and enjoy it

In these situations I just get my 'Korda Spod Kite' out. These are new out on the market. It's a power kite design (in realtree pattern though, obviously) you simply attach your spod to the bottom, then on the next gust of wind, release the spod kite to the skies, then take control and simply guide it to your 'big carp' swim, and crash it into the water, thus, releasing the bait! Repeat as often as desired.

Those who have mastered the art of 'advanced kite control', can even use the Carp kite to place their hookbaits under their favorite bush on the far margin, but this takes ultimate dedication and literally years of practice, a bit like remembering your wedding anniversary!
