Thumbs down Prebaiting........

What are your thoughts on prebaiting while other anglers are fishing?
I've always been of the opinion that it shows a lack of respect for those who are fishing.
I suppose there is leeway if its a large water, but the water I was on is approx 6 acres.I was on for an overnighter fishing to a set of pads, one guy came down baiting up the same set of pads opposite me, then later in the evening someone else came to bait up to the left of me???
Neither bothered to ask where I was fishing to.
I wasn't impressed I can tell you

iam fishing a small 5acre lake at the moment ive been putting bait in a few swims since january but havent been able to keep it up over the last 4 weeks because every time i go to put it in there is either people fishing in that swim or around it i personaly wouldnt bait up if some one was fishing the swims that ive been baiting or around them because you could spoil there fishing its just common curtesy as you say its diffrent if its a big lake but you could still end up with people in your swim its just one of them things. baiting up when people are fishing the swims is just a non starter

Just shows the lack of courtesy again in some anglers

I dont have a problem with prebaiting but would not be too happy under those circumstances it just shows a total lack of respect. If someone comes onto a water I am fishing and wants to prebait theres not a lot you can do about it if the rules dont state its banned. But to pile bait in near or on a spot close to where you are fishing

I am all for prebaiting and more bait going into waters I fish as personally I think it will keep the fish healthy and active and possibly make the fishing more productive but discretion must be exercised!

If your baiting up a busy venue. Do it at night!
If your doing it during the day and other people are fishing they will only move in on top of your hard work when you leave or the word gets about

I think this is the way all carp fishing and life in general is going nowadays no body has any respect for anything or anybody years ago you wouldn't dare pull some of the stunts that people think the norm now

Totally unexceptable, in my opinion in those circumstances, this action could be put in the common courtesy thread.

Same happened to me on Top Pool when a baliff put a kilo or more of boilies in the swim opposite when I was fishing the bay area.

I was fishing Top Pool, I chose to fish the bay as there were a few in the woods and wanted to stay as quiet and far away from others as possible to minimise disturbance. These two lads looked like new members hadn't seen them before.

Is there a need to prebait TP at this time of the year, early season and it probably sees more bait than at any other time

Small traps would make more sense, or even looking for the fish and dropping a bait on their heads.

your right not to be impressed.....like you say on the larger waters it isnt so much of a problem and im lucky at the moment to be fishing with a few people who respect what your doing, as without prebaiting i wouldnt have been able to compete with the session anglers....like as been said sums up todays selfishness.

by pr baiting you are always taking a risk that people will find out 30 years ago we used to try to sneak down and bait up but mates were always there just a game in them days not life or death

just as an aside you guys have put 2 kilos in a peg when no one is about i turn up to fish same peg without realising it could already be overbaited by some one else costing me time and effort so it really is swings and roundabouts you take your chances

it always worth pre-baiting so give it ago it will pay in the end
