says 1500lb of carp caught each person and they go up to 50lb, loads of crap ! 6 of us went and we all had 400lb between us.

thats fishing mate nothing is guaranteed im afraid.weather conditions can play apart as well as how much hammer the fish have taken in the weeks leading up to your trip mate.don`t forget some of these lakes in france are more pressured than most lakes in the uk.most swims full bombarded with bait leads and lines from april to november all this pressure mounts up over the season putting the fish on there guard.

Have to agree mate never any guarantee that you will catch in france mate like mike said most of the lakes in france are more presured than any uk waters

to true mate as we both know mate it ain`t that easy.not just a case of turning up pile the bait in rods out and start hauling.need to think outside the box do something different.

I've made the point on this forum many times when people say French fish don't count, it's too easy and all that nonsense. Often it's bloodywell hard. No ideas if this place is any good, or, you just caught it on the wrong day as I have never fished it. I would always recommend that you ask the opinions of people who have fished French venues, there are a few suggested on this forum, with pictures and reports etc. At least this way you can be assured that the fish are in the lake. It's then a matter of you working out how to catch them. Don't ever go with the idea though that it will always be an easy hauling session.

Sorry you had a poor holiday but quite honestly a little bit of extra thought beforehand may have seen you come over with more achievable expectations. In my opinion 6 anglers fishing a 4 acre lake are never likely to see the best it has to offer. We only allow 6 anglers max on a 15 acre lake and believe me when I say that the odd times when we have taken a larger party the extra pressure does make fishing harder. You must consider that the lake owner needs to balance anglers expectations of catches with the reality of keeping a healthy eco system so stocking levels can never be so high that a regular catch rate of 1500 lb per week is realistic. This particular lake is probably a lovely venue that will give a small party of 2 or 3 anglers a nice weeks fishing but more than that and you will always find it a struggle.
