Trips Abroad - Items to remember

With the increasing number of anglers going abroad, I thought it be a good idea for us to give them a few little helpers, to make their first trip a little more easier.

What items (non fishing items too) would you recommend taking abroad that you wouldn't normally consider?

BEER! because in the village we were in the only beer you could buy was those little bottles where you drink about 50 of em and spend half the evening watering the plants and still sober! Also bacon as we could only find streaky bacon! All shops close sunday & monday so remember this when going shopping! A spare landing net cause we broke 2! Fly repellent and decent suncream as well

Now then...

I've never been fishing abroad, thought about it once or twice, but then thought about the logistical nightmare of getting equipment abroad and then... well then I usually forget the idea and think about abroad being south of Birmingham and having a week in a caravan in Cornwall

Has anyone experienced problems with customs, also we have to have a rod licence here, but what about other countries?

On a more general 'going abroad' vibe, don't forget pegs, string and tea bags!

And once you haver got it ,it lasts for 10 years if they do work as they are supposed to and you can get free treatment they will be a Lot of a bargain .However i would still get yourself fully insured as you just dont know what may happen when your dealing with Jonny foreigner esp as quite a few of em aint keen on Eng/Brits
