Default vallee

Just got back from vallee, fishing was tough not quite what i expected had four fish for the week, my mate had a 46lb sturgeon on the saturday and a small cat, i had two carp on last two nights 31lb 12oz mirror P.B and 28lb 12oz common P.B the lake produced only about 20 carp for the week between 9 anglers one lad on peg 10 had a good week with 7 carp to 52lb and two sturgeon biggest 66lb, its a great venue which was well run but he fishing was a bit slow with nothing coming on the first 4 nights was told after by a few lads who had fished it before that peg 3 was not the most favoured peg on the lake. I would deffinatley fish it again but do it with a different attitude it is deffinatley a big fish venue with a 72lb common being the biggest in the lake but not a runs water. Broke my P.B twice for french fish so all was not lost

Well done on the PBs.
I often find the second trip to any venue is the most productive as you can go back with the knowledge gained from the first trip. This allows you to formualte better plans on swim selection , rigs, bait etc.
A 72lb common, now there's a target.........

Yeh he was still there nice enough bloke would do anything for you, it is a good lake was told about the 72 by a guy who hires the lodge three times a year, apparently it had come out a couple of weeks before, you could have some good hits on there but does seem a bit peggy and i think april would be a better time to go, nothing came out during the day, met some guys from leicster who had fished it three times and each morning they would wind in for the day, i just couldn't do it with not catching and wanted to optimize my chances, i also think the sturgeon cause a problem to the carp fishing with mopping all the bait up and basically bulling around the lake, god they are ugly, six sturgeon in the lake came out 9 times in two weeks.

Yes he was with his missus, Tom his name was peg 1 and 2 deffinatley good pegs on the lake, he was the guy who told us about the 72 common did he tell you, i wonder if he gets discount for the lodge he did seem genuine though. The 70+ sturgeon came out on the friday as we got there, like you said it is a good venue with everything being nearby, the town is pretty good also, looks like there are plenty of lakes to go at round there also la valdore is 10 mins up the road.

The lads we met from leicster went to a bar one early afternoon and came back wasted, they said they didn't even no what they were drinking just said it was dirty brown and strong only had about six glasses. Must have been pretty potent stuff, maybe give it at try next time.
