Had a fantastic week on lake tortue fishing on the croix blanche complex, 6 of us went and we all caught although the weather was wet and cold and the fishing was quite slow. Two of us struggled with fish of up to 23.02 however Ivan Griffiths managed a 33.00 mirror and a 39.02 mirror and small cats up to doubles. Jason Hopkins caught a cat of 74.04 and a 31.08 grass carp and lost 3 good fish in the weed. Gareth Jones had a 32.12 mirror and lost at least 4 fish in the weed. I caught a small cat a 31.14 mirror and a 45.08 mirror and lost a really good catfish and carp in the weed. In all the week was great with good food and excellent help from the bailiffs les and rob. I have attached a pic of the 45.08.
Regards Bill

Default the hippo

9 of us fished croix in may 2006 and i had the pleasure of seening one of our lads catch the hippo for the second time at 72.02. ask tricky what i was like.
i aint ever seen anything like it.i had to sit down,it was huuuugggeeee!!
that made the trip for me seeing one of the biggest fish in europe on the bank.i was that excited i almost ****ed myself.this is a top venue that i can highly recommend.when we went out kev the head balif had just started and he is one top bloke.nothing is to much trouble out there.i had a hard week, but you have to stick at it when all around you are catching.my efforts were rewarded and i ended up with 3 fish, biggest was a mirror at 50.06.
never give up till its time to get on that bus!
cheers mike.
