Default French Trips to Cherpont & La Bertrie 2008

Bhouyed by others putting up their photos of recent french trips, I have finally got round to uploading some of my own fish from over the channel this year:

Cherpont:

Fishing SOS I finished with 11 fish to 38lb 6oz, while my mate on t'other side had over 800lb of fish to high 40s..........certainly a red letter day!!

38lb 6oz

35lb 8oz

33lb (bit of a bruiser, but a good scrapper)

My second trip was to La Bertrie, Brittany. THis was a lot more relaxing week than two weeks previous at cherpont.

40lb 12oz

34lb 8oz

32lb 10oz

27lb 4oz

26lb Wels Catfish

Final tally was 30 fish between me and my old man to 40lb 12oz, included in that was a bonus sturgeon & the Wels 'kitten' at 26lb. The cats run to 90lb+ in the lake and I lost 4 substantially larger fish on triple halibuts (always the way eh!).

If any one is after a exclusive lake ideal for families, with the chance of some kippers, I can highly recommend La Bertrie. and ill definitely be back at Cherpont next year for one more crack at that elusive 50!

Cheers

Kezzo

Cheers lads for the comments, much appreciated.

Its the first time Ive fished the far bank at Cherpont - wont be the last he he!

You've had some crackers out this year too Slim, IMO one the Premier waters in France (true ive not fished many!!), lets hope that things dont change much there once (or should it be if...) Eddie sells up. John and Mick are spot on and any new owners would be stupid not to try and keep them on.

Roll on next year!

Got to agree with you that it is one of the premier waters in France pal, its an awesome lake

Next year will be the first time for about the last 7-8 years that so far we will not be re booking and that is down to a simple reason that with Eddie wonting to sell up what will happen

A newcomer comes in and gets rid off Mick and John which to those people that know them would surly agree that would be a very bad move!!!

Eddie throws the towel in next year and all the people who have booked have no ware to fish for their annual break

So I think we will wait and see what happens then maybe book a trip out there

Don't get me wrong the lake is stunning and will always have a special place in my heart, its just things are to up in the air for me at the moment.

Cheers Slim
