Moved to here as its a foreign catch report.

Well done on your first Foreign 30.

Ive caught 30's and 40's in France, but im yet to still catch my first UK 30.

Foreign fishing to me is a holiday, go to catch a few lumps and have a laugh. What happens in France, stays in France.... Personally, a UK 20 from my target water is worth 10 Foreign 40's.. just my opinion though, not saying this is gospell.

You fish for yourself and get out of fishing what you wish

Chris

Have had fish in France to 57lb and the waters I fish over there are harder in a lot of respects to the ones over here.

Now I dont mean the Commercial 10 Acre Hole in the Ground Jobs rammed with fish you know the ones where everyone goes for their French Fishing Holiday. I am refering to the Goverment Waters that are 100 Acres plus and dont see many anglers. IMHO any fish from these waters is hard earned and I should know I have spent many a blank on them!

So ( and I know I will get slated for this) as far as I am concerned they count and I could not give two F***s what anybody thinks! I have put my time in over there even through the Winter eg Dec and had 2 50,s in three days when it was just above Freezing so I say again as far as I am concerned they count! Knock it all you want thats everyones perogative but all this That does not count, this dont count is pure Sh1*e IMHO.

Keeping it French!

Dont think I mentioned where your fish came from did I?

So then you know the effort thats got to be put in to land a fish like that from 250 acres and well done mate!

So what gets me is all these Guys that pay their £300 Sit Behind 4 Rods on a 6 Acre lake rammed with fish..Sending out the old Baitboat at 50 yds and catching 30,s for fun, Reeling in for the Home Cooked Meal and then they have the cheek to knock Guys like me and you that are probably putting 10 to 14 days in of Hard Graft for 2 to 3 Fish if we are lucky!

So each to their own thats fine..but guys if you aint tried it dont knock it! as you may find you aint even up to it!

Richk,

I was not intending to take anything away from anybodys captures. I was merely stating that i class my fish from France in a different league than my ones from the uk. I am sure a lot of people go to France and put a lot of hard work into their fishing, same as in this country, but due to climate and the fact that its illegal not to make a hole in the ground without stocking carp, the size of the fish are a lot bigger than this country.

Like i say, im still awaiting my first UK 30 and when this time comes it will give me a greater feeling than anything i have experianced as i have worked so hard to acheive this - the same as some of you in France.

Im in no way nocking anyones captures, im just stating what fishing in this country and abroad means to me.

Chris

Was not having a go at you mate.

Posted the above as an Example because those are the type of guys that have knocked me in the past. Did,nt mean you so sorry if you thought I did.

Its just these type of people wind me up as they are so quick to have a go but then put them on the spot and they cant back it up.

I like my fishing here and in France on equal levels and some people take it far too seriously. I do my own thing and that suits me and I dont knock anyone as I said its Each to his own!

Ok richk, no worries.

Ive said my peice... respect is due for any fish caught in this country or France, expecially like you say fishing waters that size. No one can nock anyone for wanting to catch carp that size, thats why we all pay good hard earned cash on these trips. Plus seeing carp that size on the bank is truely unreal!

The thread starts as 'congratulations' to a first 30lb carp.....(well done fellah. The smile of your face was no less because it was caught in France and nor should it be).
Why is it that a post to say well done to a fellah's new pb quickly turns into a 'my sort of fishing, venue, size of lake, country, deserves more merit type of debate ??? Its easy to lose sight that most of us go carping to enjoy ourselves and each and every carp banked is to be valued.....wherever it is caught.

What like having your swim prebaited?? Do you fish out of a camper van? you never mentioned that coz you make it sound like a real slog when you drive to your swim. What hard graft do you exactly do?

Ha Ha!
