Bad Luck there mate but its just the way it is sometimes. I was in France last week and did Ok 42,37,33,32,31,29,27,26, and a 39 LB Common even though they were spawning but luckily some did feed.
Would not let it put you off tho as I have blanked for a whole week but still keep going back! |

If you look around its cheaper mine was for 7 nights and it cost -
Ferry 87 Fuel (From M/c ) 145 Tolls 25 Ticket 100 Bait inc Patricles etc 80 Food etc 70 So just over 500 and I went on my own so if there was 2 of us we would have split the Ferry, Fuel and Tolls which would have brought it down to 380 so not that bad when you think a week on a Pay Lake over here is about 175 to 250. I would rather go to France anytime. |

You could fish somewhere like Millstone, which is a top notch water for around £520 ish.
Based on 2 sharing Fishing = £280 Fuel + tolls = £130 each Ferry = £60 Bait = £50 You can't count food for the trip as an expense, unless that is you plan on not eating for the duration of the trip, if you were still at home? Somewhere like Vaumigny can be done for around £400 Fishing = £160 Ferry = £60 Fuel + tolls = £90 each Bait = £100 (need lots of it in summer to combat the chats) |

Millstone for example is a round trip of 1600 miles. In my Octavia thats about £160. Tolls cost £60. Ferries can be very cheap if you book early, we've booked them for £60. Thats £280, split 2 ways £140. The lake costs £280, giving a total of £420. However my usual weekly fuel bill is £50, so I would of spent that anyway, therefore the trip is only an extra £370. The same applies to food, I spend no more in France on food than I would in the UK. Bait is a minefield. Many people take far too much. For Millstone half a bag of their pellets at £12 will do, add to this some peperami firesticks, halibut oil, chilli olive oil, a few rosehip and other odd boilies and some hali hookers and you have a £50 bait bill. This means that the trip can be done for less than £450. Considering on my last trip I had 7 forties, 2 fifties, 10 thirties and 2 twenties, I consider that money well spent. |
