Hi Biz. Try Car Rental London - Car Hire UK and Cheap Car Rental from 1Car1.com as I think they are the company that some of our anglers used last year. There are age restrictions and you have to pay extra for insurance but they are meant to be pretty good.

Have hired a van in the past from Easirent in Wigan for a France trip, so should do cars as well.

Guys - remember one thing - dont just use the cheapest please!!
I spent a whole year working for a leasing company in the UK running an exceptionally busy daily rental operation, and I have supplied hire cars to my customers all over the world. Now, National Car Rental are not the cheapest, but provide a top quality service for vehicles that are taken out of the UK, I think they may be badged as Alamo or Guy Salmon

Thrifty and Enterprise also offer a superb service - again, not exceptionally cheap but you get what you pay for.
