goin the migthy river ebro in spain on thursday just wounderin if anyone know's if halibut pallets are still doin the business or have they been banned

AS far as I'm aware they arn't banned yet, but I hear things have slowed down a little in terms of catch reports this year....

Sure you'll still bag a lump or two though as there are just a few big old kippers out there!

Could be any number of things, and I don't know enough about it to comment.

Could just be the effect of the pellets having 'peaked'....or just a bad fishing season in general...

hasnt there been a massive fish kill on the Ebro? from watching that Nigel Marvins program last week, there was rumours of large fish kills... cats and carp!

go armed with an 8oz tench live bait.. then watch him run about hahaha cruel to be kind and all that

did you see nick bakers weird creatures on telly the other night? lots of info to be gleamed from it. check on tinternet if you can view the last episode. you after cats or carp?

That program was superb even though I missed the first bit...grrr...It opened my eyes about the Ebro....a carp and cat mecca but an ecological disaster!!!!..Apparently the place is polluted by the local industry and the resident zebra mussels take all the nutrients out of the water leaving it gin clear which looks nice but not too good for the ecosystem apparently..A mate of mine says the carp numbers must have dwindled as he has done really poorly on his last few trips but in that programme it was crawling with 20+ commons...all over the place..would like a trip out there myself...wouldnt mind a carp and cat trip...bag a big moggie...

Best of luck anyway...

cheers mate i've heard adout them zebra mussels are they similar to tigger mussels or am completely off the mark.

read very recently they have lost hundreds of carp in a fish kill.
