Two trips booked already for next year, both at Le Telliats. We are already looking to book 2010's trip too!!

Only been back from Maison for just over a week, it seems a distant memory already, roll on Spring 2009 i say.

Most top notch commercial type venues will set you back from £700-£1000 i reckon, especially after you take into acount your parking at Dover and your fuel. That includes your food, bait, fishing and ferry. When i say top notch, i mean places like Maison, Les Quis, Mar Peche, Dream Lakes, etc etc, where everything is taken care of including the cooking!!

I've done a lot of both all inclusive type trips, and drive and survive, i've even done the flying thing down to Cassien. By far the most enjoyable and relaxing is the all inclusive thing, simply park up and enjoy for a week.

Obviously there are venues that are a lot cheaper, but from my own experiences, and those of some of my mates, you do get what you pay for regarding facilities, fish stocks and the general pleasantness of the place if you stick to those that regularly get good press and personal recomendations.

The crays are a plenty at Maison Deano yes, but mainly the problems occur more on Jolly and Piroet. I tend to use plastic baits for most of my fishing over there, but i have caught plenty of fish on boilies, you just have to make sure they are rock hard and meshed up, or the shrink tube stuff you can get is very good.
At the end of the day, the Maison carp love eating these dreaded little ****ers, so i dont tend to let them worry me. As long as you dont allow the crays to wipe all of your bait out you'll be fine, regular spodding or baiting is the key, that way there's always some sort of food signals being sent out from your spots.
Just as a pointer, i was unhooking a mid 50 a couple of weeks ago, and the ****er coughed up a cray claw the size of a tennis ball............!!!!!

Tar for the info.Theres some whackers in Maison though.Thinking of going to France next year I like the looks of Maison but theres about 8 of us going and its got to be somewhere that A) we can all get on and B) somewhere everyone fancies.

They have done La Horre last couple of years but not sure if we can get on next year.I think we are leaving it a bit late for anywhere mind!
