lac du val dont go
I have never been to a water and put up with what went on at lac du val the problem is where to start .First there is some cracking fish and it is easy, but david the owner is the most annoying person you will ever meet . He sits with you all day and night telling you what to do, if you complain he says its my f ing lake i will do what i want.If you are a begginer you will be ok because he loves it when you fish exactly as he says,and you will catch fish ,but you will also catch more fish doing the opposite.We were all experienced anglers and he didnt like it when we fished are own way , he went to us individually backstabbing the others ranting and raving saying people wont listen to him it felt like a naughty boys club.We felt like going somewhere else after 2 hours but decided to bite our lips which at times was difficult.He takes over your conversations and tells lies and also never stops moaning day and night about anglers waters etc.He does not have a nice word to say about anybody.It was like a black cloud coming over every time he came down to lake we thought here he comes whats he gonna moan about now.Be prepared to be belliteled as there is only him knows anything about carp fishing in his eyes ,but some of the things he came out with were laughable he is old school and carp fishing has moved on and left him behind .Also in reguard to feedback they do it at the lake making it difficult to be honest we were in fear of been thrown off for been honest .People who are inexperienced will sing his praises because they listen to him and he loves it when you kiss his you know what.Feedback should be given in private.His excuse for the relentless monitoring and telling you what to do is the anglers were idiots or not looking after his fish ,in our case this was not true.His wife is lovely even she jumps on a shovel when he shouts we really felt sorry for her and cannot understand how she puts up with him.This has just scratched the surface and i would advise anybody who is experienced to give it a wide birth he is a very bombastic man and i cant see it being much longer before someone loses it with him . Also someone has drawn phallic symbols on his head on photos i wonder why .Also when you hire a bait boat he takes it off you at 11 pm after sitting right next to you all night and gives you it back after breakfast ,which is 10.30 ish just when you dont need it ,this is a problem as some swims are difficult to cast to your marks ,but judging by his behaviour he doesnt want you catching when he is not there anyway because there is only him that knows how to look after fish.We kissed his u know what just to get through the week but it was very hard at times i cannot believe he has got away with it for so long he needs to be stopped a lines dont seem that bothered they are making lots of money from him and i think they believe him when he blames poor fisherman for the complaints ,and they have had quite a few.Also he tries to get you to buy loads of pellet but we caught more with small traps ,he was not happy every day he kept saying why does no one listen i was determined not to line his pockets .However the fishing is superb with some very large and stunning fish if you can put up with him.All our party would not go back if it was free and i would be typing for hours to report all the annoying things he said and did like he recons he wrote the song matchstalk man and ran redmire pool in the old days. Every fishery i have heard of he has had something to do with it in some capacity, either running it or giving his expert advice the man is a compulsive liar and his love for himself is beyond belief but you have no choice you have to listen to it
