Not worth an awful lot mate. The Delkim conversions are worth more but still, you're better off just keeping hold and using them. They are as good as anything else out there and you get that warm fuzzy retro feeling for free

As said, keep em mate...better still, frame them and when the kids are old enough to ask what they are,you can park them on your knee and tell them..."Well,when I was a lad.........."

I know it amounts to splitting hairs but either my memory is on the blink or you are mistaken about the age of your alarms.

I thought the Super XL’s were the last fling of Optonics in their original guise and they came out in early-mid 90s?

Bought my Super Compacts which were the top of the range of the un-converted Optonics in 87 and between them and the Super XL’s they produced the Magnatronic.

I stand to be corrected but I am sure XL’s were a fair bit later than 87?

Looking on Ebay my guess would be £10-£15 each.

Correct, the Super XL came out around '92 and I remember getting some after being bitten on the bum by the Daiwa sensitron...oh dear. The funny thing is,the XL's retailed at over seventy quid! Funny how things change eh...

Ah its all flooding back now,Solar carp ears, twitcher wheels, speaker covers, opti polo's....,tring to fit a battery in winter and having to undo those teeny weeny screws that you just HAD to drop in the grass...eeeee tha doesn't know tha's born....

The biggest mistake Delareed ever made was not allowing Delkim the rights to convert there optonics on a commercial liscence, may have helped them to still be in buisness today.
