I went through a phase of buying these up a couple of years ago of e-bay usually between £15 and £20.
At the time I was fishing for catfish with an open bail arm and opo's are one of the only alarms that work effectively with this method.
I forgot how unreliable they can be. Especially in the rain!
I still have a conversion done by a mate in 1990 with a G.P.O speaker that works reliably even in the rain.

still own apair of magnitronics bought from bennetts of sheffield, my volume control was a bil of tape across the speaker hole i also invested in some isotope ears and opti polo bolts... they never let me down although in them days i didn't really catch much

ive got 2 xl,s 2 baitrunner 4500s and the original kjb pod...still use em on the odd occasion they are still as good as ever

The KJB pods were a leap forward when they came out and still compare as a rod pod today
