Default Blast from the past

I bought two old reels at a car boot sale the other week one was my first ever reel and the other is the deluxe model . My first ever reel was a an intrepid Black prince and the one i bought is in mint condition as is the intrepid De-Luxe i bought too
I know they arn't very valuable they tend to go for £4 to £10 on ebay but i only paid £4 for the two .
does anyone remember them ????

I also had an Intrepid de-luxe reel, bought new in 1963 when I started fishing.

The princely sum of 48 shillings apparently. ( £2.40)

Coarse fishing i started out with a an old fibre glass rod of my dads and an Ambidex half bail arm reel and a centre pin dont know the make of the centre pin + hand painted crow quill floats made by my father now i still have a few of them and they were made during and just after the 2nd world war so are 60 + ish.

Fluff chuckin started out with a Hardy rod ,a Bruce and Walker rod and 2 Ryobi reels all of which i still have . I was a fluff chucker a good few years before i ever coarse fished . So the rods and reels are well old but not as old as the split cane scotty ive got somewhere

My first 'quality' fixed spool was the Intrepid Elite. I managed to get one on ebay a few years ago and sometimes marry it up with my Chapman 500 cane carp rod for a bit of stalking on my lake. Have had carp to just over 30lb on them but realise now why we all used to backwind..................awful clutch.
