Anymore luck Kev?? I've been a few times but these low and clear conditions are hampering my efforts. Heard of a few fish between 7-10lb coming out, but it seems very tough.

Lus there is a severe lack of weed, so I think they are gonna be held up where there is whatever cover possible in this weather.

Been a couple more times, had 2 more barbel 7lb plus, lost one, 8 chub from 2lb - 4lb (majority 3 - 3.5lb) and a brown trout about 3lb. Is enjoyable fishing in this weather and have only seen 3 other anglers in 4 sessions

You're right about the cover, need to be close to the willows to tempt them. Difficulty in getting the barbel is keeping the bait out long enough before a chub takes it, but I don't mind the chub anyway

Sounds good enough to me!! I've been really struggling, just hoping for a few days of downpour, that'll bring them out to play

No, still a bit of water & colour coming through thanks to this rain in the River Churnet catchment area. I'm going for a cuple of sessions on my days off this week, so I'll get you some feedback, but I'm giving Redes a miss for a while, while these Barbel are on the munch. I've had fish on both meat and boilie, and just been introducing a steady trickle of pellet or hemp along the line of the crease, but the fish have been really active and showing themsleves well, so don't be afraid to move onto the showing fish mate.
