Default Astbury coarse fish

Has anyone fished Astbury for fish other than carp? I've only ever seen people carping and the odd pike fisherman when i've walked round. Surely as the carp have grown pretty big in there on basically a natural food supply there must be specimans of other species in there too, but i never see anyone targeting them.

This is second hand but it came from a reliable source who told me of some big bream in the place along with all the other big perch and roach etc . Just get down there chuck out 2 feeders 1 with maggots on the hook and the other with a worm on the hook and see what happens give it an hour or two and if you have caught nowt by then find a carper and scrounge a brew off him

I understand that bream from redesmere and silver fish from another water are being put into Astbury. Not sure if this was last weekend or in the very near future. After being "stocked" into a water how long before they start feeding? or is that something they will do from day 1?
After seeing that mahoooosive perch in my swim on friday i think a third rod being used for coarse fish sounds like a nice way of spending my time while blanking on my carp rods.

Ive made a whole lifetime of carping doing just that mate give it a few hours and if nowtsa doing drag a match rod out and my trusty abu closed face reel and bash a few bits and very often some bigger bits boardering on lumps for their species .Its all about doing a bit of what you fancy

I dunno - it's difficult to scale the size of the fish due to the size of the angler! It's an epic Perch and I'd have no reason not to believe the quoted weight.
