Question Young Un's

It ahs been touched on before how many of you were brought up in a coarse-fishing environment, but then stepped up to the carp scene. What used to be your favourite venues when you were younger, and why? And do you still feel the same about them?

I fished with my dad up until the age of 14 ,we used to go to knypersley pool, deep hayes cp,canals, trout and grayling fishing at hulme end but my fave was a stretch on the river dane, we spent many happy hrs there,It had it all, fast runs, slow stretches and undercut banks that the chub loved so much. When my dad changed job,we couldn't go as often and before I knew it 10 yrs had flown by .I'd love to go back,if I can ever talk my dad into coming ,you see, he says if he we're to take up fishing now that he's retired,he never get all the jobs done, that my mum keeps finding him to do .I got into carping with my hubby 6 yrs ago and absolutely luv it

We have touched on this on the old forum .My favourite water back then was Capesthorne main every saturday my mates dad would drop us off about 5 or 6 am and we would spend all day fishing the last swim on the lake the one you cant fish now where the stream flows out of Capesthorne opposite the dam and then my dad would come down and pick us up between 7 and 8 oclock (summewr fishin only) That was back in the days when Capes was open to day ticket and only the Garden wall and dam were closed to SOTAS members only ,Top pool belonged to Prince Albert and Redesmere also to Prince Albert Stock pool was day ticket.
I loved that place then and still love it as much today every time i park myself on any swim on main lake i spend most of my time reliving my childhood/youth + i caught my 1st ever coarse fish from there .So if i had to fish only 1 water for the rest of my life it would Capesthorne main lake.
