Default Coombs for pike??

My partners brother has previously fished coombs successfully for pike in the past both spinning and deadbaits, we spent the whole day there today spining and covered the entire lake and didn't encounter of see one fish
Does anyone know whether there are still pike in there??

I did lose a brand new lure 4th cast £6 down the drain!!

Used to fish Combs quite regular, there seemed to be lot of pike in there as we used to get pestered with them once you'd got a swim going.

Not huge fish from what I can remember but I suppose they'd be good sport on light gear.

The places where we fished were on the stream bank before the little bridge, and more or less everywhere after it. Also where the entrance to the Sailing Club is, right in the corner, the water is surprisingly deep there. Fishing off the bank that runs parallel to the road where the rocks are in cages... before the first trees. Also right round the other side of the Sailing Club where there's a kind of arm that juts back from the main lake, that was probably the worst area for having fish snatched off the hook.

This is going back a bit though and it all may have changed now...

No mate it is worth a bash but i feel the crocs that do inhabbit there would more likely to be bagged on larger dead baits rather than lures

Not sure about any regulations on there about anything as far as i am aware no club or individual has the fishing rights to the place . There was talk about a certain large cheshire based club taking it on but have heard nothing further about that . Last time i fished the place no one came round and asked me for either membership card or day ticket money

ive been doing a bit on coombs over the past few weeks and me and my mate have had three between us in two sessions there together, no monsters, but nothing under 10lb either so time will tell if they get big in there or not?

After doing abit on there for the carp i can tell you some info.

-The big club that was after it turned it down due to not wanting only one bank and having to collect day ticket on the other. The money from the day tickets would go to the EU anyway. There is also a stocking ban in place ont here aswell.

-As far as i know it is day ticket but nobody comes around so its all good. Just make sure you have your rod license.

- I have seen pike in there 20's chasing bait fish around the margins.

- Seen people do well in the dam corners with swimming baits.

Hope this helps guys and girls
